Family friendly Festival Review So Frenchy So Chic in the Park

The welcoming sign says it all

Hi everyone, welcome to my first ever “lifestyle” post. Being the wannabe Francophile I am I’ve been very excited for this festival.  So Frenchy So Chic is held each January in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.  I attended the Melbourne event which was hosted in the grounds of the historic Werribee Mansion (blog post to come on this beautiful boutique hotel).

On the day of the festival the sun was shining and there was truly a feeling of Joie de Vivre in the air.  Ages ranged from groups of girls in their twenties to young couples, young families to older groups and everything in between. There was a very chilled inclusive vibe.

I especially loved seeing how many kids were there enjoying the day. I pretty much thought my festival days were behind me so it was great to see an event where you can combine music, divine artisanal cuisine and also stuff for kids to enjoy.

When I arrived I headed straight for the Braid Bar – you can imagine how in heaven I was being a complete braid nut.   The braiding was complimentary and such a fun idea. I asked my stylist who she worked for and was informed Oscar Oscar salon in Melbourne. I’ve heard great things about the Sydney Oscar Oscar so obviously no expense was spared.

Next stop was the Lancôme Parisienne Lip Suite – where a makeup artist applied a gorgeous lippie of my choice. Lancôme also had a little stand where you could have a complimentary polaroid taken, plus a chance to win prizes.

It was such an aesthetically pleasing set up – everywhere you wandered there were gorgeous food and drink stands, eating areas and little areas to chill, interspersed with fresh floral arrangements. Everything was so pretty and thoughtfully done, right down to the La Roche Posay girls wandering around offering sunscreen. I wear this sunscreen daily on my face anyway so I was thrilled to get a top up (the sun was pretty scorching).

I took so many pictures – it was hard to choose the finals – so I shall let my pictures do the rest of the talking of what a wonderful day it was.

The last SFSC date for this year is happening this weekend in Sydney so if you have a chance to go check their website for details.  It’s a really great day.

Until next time

Cassie xx

  1. Ooh I’ve always wanted to go to this festival, shame I won’t be free for the Sydney event coming up… but hopefully they do it all again in 2019 as I’d love to go with a group of my girls!
Love that divine swing and all the fresh blooms – so whimsical 🌺🌸🌼 and thank goodness for those La Roche Posay girls… it looks like it was a sunny day!

  2. It looked like such a beautiful afternoon! Nothing like the fried Oreos festivals here in the states…ha!! I loved your hair and outfit😍
